Cristina Vicens

Cristina Vicens focuses her practice on commercial litigation and arbitration, with particular attention to financial fraud, corruption, asset recovery, the enforcement of international judgments and arbitral awards, and cross-border insolvency. She also represents individual and corporate clients seeking to gather U.S.-based evidence for use in foreign proceedings under 28 U.S.C. § 1782, and in domestic and international arbitrations — including a 2021 ICDR arbitration in which she secured a favorable outcome for a Belizean respondent in a breach-of-lease dispute governed by Belizean law.

Cristina has led teams of investigators, forensic accountants, and foreign counsel investigating financial fraud and corruption, building the cases behind several notable results: she was part of a team that obtained Chapter 15 recognition for a Chilean bankruptcy trustee and recovered more than USD 20 million across eight countries for victims of a Chilean Ponzi scheme, and secured critical discovery from banks and companies in Florida — litigated up to the Eleventh Circuit — for use in marital distribution proceedings in Ecuador. She has also obtained dismissal with prejudice of a PROMESA avoidance action brought against a Puerto Rican company in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
