Ms. Camargo joined Bluestone in 2006 as an Asset Recovery Manager specializing in commercial debt recovery in Latin America and Europe. She has years of experience in negotiating international business transactions and resolving complex multi-jurisdictional matters, mostly related to recoveries.
In addition to being trilingual (English, Spanish, Italian), Lucia has a strong ability to work with culturally different parties to reach successful and satisfactory results. In recovering defaulted accounts for export credit agencies around the world, including the U.S. Export-Import Bank, Lucia has insights into the actions exporters and international creditors should take to protect themselves against problematic sales and customer relationships.
Prior to joining Bluestone, Lucia worked with a variety of international organizations, such as the Embassy of Colombia in Washington D.C, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Colombian Consulate in Milan, Italy.
Lucia received an LLM from the American University, Washington College of Law (Washington, D.C.), and her law degree from the Universidad Libre de Colombia in 1991. She is admitted to practice in her native Colombia and New York.
